abortion - a thought

I usually stay away from this topic for general purpose discussions... but I heard something this morning that I've just got to post: This morning, I was listening to a podcast from my church (The Village)... matt chandler (@MattChandler74) has got to be one of my favorite pastors as far as sermons & delivery go... anyway, he had this thought in his message:

(i'm paraphrasing) If you are a pregnant lady, in your car, on the way to the abortion clinic, and someone breaks a law, runs a red light and hits your car, causing you to miscarry, that guy is charged with vehicular manslaughter for killing your baby...

HOWEVER; if you make it to the abortion clinic, and allow the doctor to hook up a vacuum pump and suck your baby out of your womb... it's called parental planning...

That's a pretty deep ponderment.... hard to come up with a suitable explanation, in my humble opinion.

Camping v2

so this past weekend, my parents, brother and kids all came together at a place in The Colony, TX known as Hidden Cove Park... it's an RV park on Lake Lewisville that is much like the Texas State Parks we normally hit up for our camping adventures...

Normally, we hit the Isle De Bois state park on Ray Roberts Lake but we found out, the hard way, that it is full pretty much 99% of the time, so some forward planning is involved if you want to stay there...

Anyway, we had quite a good time just doing the camping thing... we did manage to land 3 decent catfish and got to use our brand new electric filet knife... it worked extremely well.

We sure had fun over the weekend with the family - the rain kinda hampered what we could do but we enjoyed it quite a lot...

Here are some pics of the kids with one HUGE catfish we caught.

It is amazing how awesome our kids are... They didn't complain at all... Just fun loving and happy to be camping.

I'm looking forward to redoing the popup for camping... It's pretty easy.

Commuting

On my commute home each day I see quite a few bumper stickers... One of the most common stickers I see is the type that declares the driver has run a marathon (or half marathon) with the numbers "26.2" (13.1)...

So imagine my thought process as I roll up on a pickup with the same oval shaped sticker, but instead of the standard numbers, this sticker says "0.0"...!

I think I laughed all the way home!
