Pear Budget Spreadsheet (FREE)
When PearBudget started out, it was simply a downloadable spreadsheet. It was easy to use, and it helped a lot of people get their finances in order. We created it because we needed something simple to track our income and expenses. So we made it, and we put it online, for free.

This is a pretty good budget spreadsheet (talking about the free download) from way back - I was just going through some of my old archives and found an old copy of it - reminded me to re-check it out - thought I'd throw it out there in case someone else can benefit from a simple solution... *I think mint.com's budget section is better, but if you are one of those who don't want to put your $$ out in the cloud - this is a pretty good solution.

Shingles
Last week, I was the unfortunate person who discovered the pain of "Shingles"; as in the virus that attacks your nerve(s) and presents as huge blisters and red streaks on the affected area. That in and of itself sounds painful... leave it to me to get it ON MY FACE! Now, a week later, I'm still dealing with the after-effects of the skin irritation (not to mention the look - everyone who sees me asks with a horrified face "WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU?!") and the pain - I call it nerve pain, because it isn't anything like regular physical pain that I've ever felt. I'm told this pain can last well after the??lesions??have healed. Glad I have medication for that part, because to be quite honest, I don't know how much I can take of that...?? 
You can see in the photos that it doesn't look like a whole lot of fun; while what you see is definitely painful, that is a pain I can handle, or take - what really gets you is the underlying "nerve" pain - it is unbearable...
Bottom line, I wouldn't wish this on anyone - it's extremely painful and not something I want to experience again... and I'm ready for this term to be done with...
